The pigment for ink refers to the raw material that makes the ink color. It has the characteristics of insolubility in water and excellent alcohol resistance. From chromatics classification, it can be divided into achromatic, colored, constitution and other 4 types of pigments and more.

Achromatic pigment:

Includes white and black inorganic pigments, white pigments are mainly titanium white, and zinc white and zinc barium white, carbon black is the main black pigment, and iron oxide black is used for special inks. Achromatic pigments are insoluble in water, have excellent alcohol resistance and other chemical solvents, acid and alkali resistance and hiding power.

Color pigment:

With red, orange, yellow, green, cyan, blue, purple and other colored pigments. Mainly organic pigments, of which azos are the most. Inorganic pigments are becoming less common. Color pigments are basically insoluble in water, have excellent transparency, acid resistance, alkali resistance, and resistance to other chemical solvents. Some color pigments have good alcohol resistance, light resistance and soap resistance.

Constitution pigment:

Good dispersibility, white appearance, transparent or translucent after blending with binder, does not affect ink color. Inorganic pigments that strengthen the body of the ink and reduce costs. Also called filler. The main varieties are calcium carbonate, barium sulfate, etc.

Other pigments:

Includes fluorescent, luminescent and metallic (gold and silver) pigments.
